Formula Africa has officially announced its launch as the continent's first integrated motorsport, education, and infrastructure platform — with operations planned across 25 African nations and a flagship event set for Morocco in 2026.
The platform is designed to build the full ecosystem required for African motorsport to thrive — from grassroots youth development through to professional racing, backed by education, energy infrastructure, and commercial partnerships.
A Platform, Not Just a Race Series
Unlike traditional motorsport ventures that focus solely on racing events, Formula Africa is structured as a multi-layered platform. It combines competitive motorsport with education pathways, community infrastructure (through its Bambino Hubs initiative), and sustainable energy systems.
The organisation operates under a proprietary framework called S.A.F.E.E S.I.T.E.S — which stands for Safety, Accessibility, Foundation & Fairness, Education, Excellence, Sustainability, Infrastructure, Technology, Employment, Social Impact — ensuring each project delivers across multiple development pillars simultaneously.
Morocco 2026: The Flagship Launch
The first major event is planned for Morocco in 2026, leveraging the country's existing FIA-grade circuit infrastructure. Morocco's government has invested heavily in motorsport facilities, making it the ideal launchpad for Formula Africa's continental ambitions.
The Morocco event will feature demonstration and showcase racing alongside an innovation expo, educational workshops, and partnership showcases — setting the template for future events across the continent.
Five Strategic Regions
Formula Africa has identified five strategic regional hubs across the continent:
- North Africa — Morocco, Egypt (established infrastructure)
- West Africa — Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal (largest population base)
- East Africa — Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda (emerging tech hubs)
- Southern Africa — South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe (motorsport heritage)
- Central Africa — Cameroon, DRC, Ghana (untapped potential)
